Beyond the Pain of Trauma and Addiction: Integrating Holistic Recovery-Oriented Principles of Practices into Psychotherapy
This plenary will explore the relationship between trauma and addiction through a recovery-oriented lens, examining the limitations of abstinence-only models and the clinical value of integrating mind-body awareness, purpose-building and lifestyle-based practices into psychotherapy and counseling. Participants will gain clinically applicable frameworks and experiential insights to support emotional regulation, resilience and sustained recovery for their patients and clients.

From the Mat to the Therapy Room: Embodied-Awareness, Presence and the Parallel Process of Healing
This plenary will explore the embodied-awareness, presence and the parallel process of healing, while examining the similarities between yoga and psychotherapy. We will learn how the therapistโs embodiment impacts the therapeutic alliance and outcome of psychotherapy and recovery.

Breathwork for Step Work: Regulating the Nervous System and Embodying the Spiritual Principles of the 12 – Steps
Recovery is an embodied process. We will explore the integration of breathwork practices with the transformative framework of the 12-steps. Participants will learn how intentional breathing techniques can regulate the nervous system, increase emotional tolerance and support deeper embodiment of spiritual principles such as surrender, acceptance, inventory, forgiveness and service. We will learn how breath-based regulation can reduce reactivity and support trauma-informed step work.
Tommy Rosen is an advanced Vinyasa flow and Kundalini yoga teacher. He is a leading expert on addiction and recovery, with over 30 years experience helping people overcome addictions of all sorts. He is the founder of Recovery 2.0, the 8-week Awakening Program, and the Recovery 2.0 Coach Training Program.
